Yeah, I've come across guys who rep NY in only the worst ways possible. They either act like big shots, or on the opposite side of the spectrum, pretend they came from the toughest neighborhood on the planet or something.

Lots of NY transplants showed their faces at the Indians-Yankees series in Cleveland this weekend. Met more than a few of them out at bars at night acting tough and a bunch of bs, expecting special treatment. Funny, cause when I'm in NY, nobody is like that...

Being from the greatest city in the world sometimes gives tools a false sense of superiority when they're outside NYC.

The worst are the ones who move to California. Many transfer their boastfulness to the new location.

Being a native born New Yorker and having lived in numerous other parts of this country, I must say you have all described my behavior, when amongst the "little people"of the non-Empire State's, most accurately.

I miss you Leona

I have to say myself when I step out of NYC I always rock a Yankees baseball cap. New Yorkers are very obnoxious thats how we are. You are more likely to find a few Bronxites or Brooklynites in Cleveland Ohio compared to the other way around. I read somewhere how Tampa Bay residents were fed up with all the rude New Yorkers moving in. Sad thing is that no one likes outsiders because of different political views, or a New Yorker moving to NC causing the state taxes to go up over time, or some Wasp guy from Missouri gets hired at a Manhattan media firm with only being in the city for one week out beating everyone else plus Native New Yorkers who are just as qualified. I'm sure Los Angelenos are just as defensive against New YOrkers moving to NYC as New Yorkers disliking some surfer type Los Angelno moving to Williamsburg. Truth is this you can take a New Yorker out of New York, City, but you cant take the New York City out of an New Yorker, its the same way with Transplants who live in this city, you cant take the Midwesterner out of an Midwesterner. Same way how Transplants who congregate amongst themsleves in NYC, New Yorkers do the same but with fellow New Yorkers in other regions of this Country. Interesting .

Also keep in mind that the NYers that have moved to other states were probably the cocky and undesirable types that have been priced out of NY. One of the reasons why NY has been able to clean up is because those undesirable NYers left NY and brought their riff raff elsewhere.
