Yeah, me too. It's like second nature to me. Not to mention the sidewalks are so uneven with breaks here and there, it's best to look down while walking so as not to trip & break your neck. I found money that way too.

Outside of the really congested areas and a few immigrant enclaves, NYC was/is fairly clean.

I like it when NYC was dirtier and had more character. Nowadays you can be on any street and they all look alike with very little differences other than the known landmarks.

Miss the old 42nd street when there are tons of street dealers and none of the fake costume people.
