Oh thank you for this....this is one of my favorite places to eat in the area! Just to clarify, the restaurant is in the Northeast corner of Mott Haven in the Southern Bronx. They also own a restaurant about 3 blocks away called Mexicosina (with an "s" instead of a "c"), which is more of a diner, with pizza, salads, breakfast, etc. It's yummy also but very different from the original place.
You can take the 6 train to E149th st stop, and then walk west on E149th 3 or 4 blocks to Mexicocina or you can take the 2/5 train to the Jackson Ave station and walk south on Jackson Ave about 3 blocks to E149th then turn left, and it's about a block or 2 down.
