I'm moving to NYC soon for a new job position that is located in the bronx, specifically located on waterbury/zerega. My job requires me to work nights one week a month (12:30am-630am). Is this a fairly safe area to be taking the subway to work at night? I am an asian female in my mid 20's.

the area isn't bad but the fact that youre a woman makes it more of a risk, only because of those hours, and the presence of multiple highways there makes it easy for crooks to enter the area and exit it quickly

If I remember correctly that area is pretty desolate during those hours. Its kinda industrial. So I wouldn't say its "bad," but pretty easy to get robbed since there's not a lot of pedestrian traffic. If this is the area I think it is, there's a tow truck company nearby. I had to take my homegirl there some years ago to get her car out the lot.

so i guess it wouldn't be a wise decision to take the 6 train to work if i decided to live in manhattan? i know the subway stop is about a block from my work. i would hate to have to keep and maintain my car in the city because it can get pretty expensive.

and yes, the area is an industrial area. i asked my hiring manager if the area was safe, and he said that neither him nor any of the staff have had issues going to work late at night.

its not really that bad there but with those hours and you are very young and maybe it wouldnt be such a good idea taking trans cus about 2 or 3 blocks away is pretty bad so you never no when those people will come wondering into that neighborhood. If thats the case I would jus be very careful and watch your step you will probably be okay though..
