Looking for a yummy sushi place near Times Square or upper west side. Looking to spend no more than $50 per person (less is always better, of course) for a nice selection of rolls, sushi and, hopefully some really delicious red bean fried ice cream.

Any suggestions?

(p.s. I googled, but wanted more "personal" recommendations - thanks!)

I second, and third and fourth ICHI UMI...32nd just a couple doors East of Fifth Ave. The place is bloody AMAZING. (Go for lunch Mon-Thurs...$18.95 with no limit sushi (and a couple hundred other choices.)
Bring a forklift to get you home. Lunch is $5 extra for Fri, Sat, Sun but you get clams and oysters too.

If you want a whole lobster thrown in, it's $6 more...but there's no need unless you are Mr. Creosote.

Try Sapporo at 152 W. 49th street. It's just a couple of doors east of 7th Ave. Food is excellent and the prices are unbelievably cheap! Here's their menu: Sapporo - New York Restaurant - MenuPages Japanese, Noodle Shops Restaurant Search
