I see your in my home Boro

How has the Bx changed? From what I hear it's become a much better place to live than it used to be? I was in Castle Hill, not the best but not the worst. I'm guessing it's still affordable?

I was in California when they adopted that ban on smoking everywhere rule. I still think it's a bad idea for that very reason. It kinda defeats the purpose. You can't walk anywhere with dodging fumes that way. They should give them somewhere to smoke.

Too bad about the Square, it used to be interesting, now it sounds like a blatant tourist trap. I never spent much time around there anyway.

This is perverse. Crime and grime and urine and blood and whores and drugs and teenage runaways and porno stores are better?

Times Square in its heyday in the 1930s was also all about entertainment and crowds and wholesomeness and, yes, commerce and revenues.

The Bronx overall is safer I would say than 10 years ago. Most areas have gotten better but not huge improvements. I guess the neighborhood that has changed the most would be Parkchester which has really seen a huge increase in the Pakistani/Bengali population there.

I think you're jumping to the wrong conclusion, but it's not important.

The city will eat you up & spit you out. If you couldn't make it in Cali you ain't gonna do better here. Try Kentucky.

Funny that I was thinking about that, too. The west coast is way more accommodating than home here. Be prepared for what you are looking for. NYC is great if you know how to handle ill mannered ppl from various civilizations.

Look, not for nuthin', but you really do sound like a cry baby wuss in many of your posts about NYers.

It's NEVER been a "secret" that NYers are not "warm and fuzzy" people who will kiss your @ss upon seeing you. I'm sure you MUST have heard or read about this BEFORE coming here, so what's the problem?

Are you being held against your will in the city? What is forcing you to deal with ill-bred and ill-mannered people like us when you can just go back to that "warm fuzzy" place you came from?

Prices for everything have gone through the roof and has become more of a melting pot than ever before. Do you really want to go back?

This is a bad post.

What makes you think he wasn't making it on the West Coast? He never said anything about that, he just said he was looking forward to moving back to NYC. Since he was coming back for yearly visits, I'm guessing he was doing pretty well for himself because cross-country flights are not cheap. You're definitely "making it" if you can afford to do that.
