I used to get this 3-4 times a week where I live. Now maybe once a month as some of the riffraff died off, moved or went to prison and the area got a bit better. Still a bit rough at night though.

luvnyc, I was young(ish) and sleepless...You are totally right that I should not have opened the door. But when the police knocked, identified themselves and showed their shields, I never expected they'd have the creep WITH THEM!

funny, we've been having a rash of this on Friday nights for the past few weeks - anytime between 11pm and 3 am the friggin dor bell rings and its one of those super loud electronic buzzes that wakes you TOTALLY out of your sleep. Never got up to find out who it was - just hard to beleive someone can be so careless so late at night

Hey chava, seriously sounds like an apt I had in east New York a few months ago. I feel your pain, and I had a, at he time very small baby 4-6 month old at the time and the neighbors in back of me were the worst cause I had work and to get up at 5am to get us ready. I had to move outta there and seek shelter else where because I couldn't find anything within my budget and my landlord wanted his money and I coldn't save fast enough to move out into something decent. I sooo feel your pain.
