I'm looking to buy a property in queens NY. My problem is my budget is not huge, but I know it's enough to get a basic property in some areas. I'm looking to spend no more than 200k on a property. Sites like zillow / trulia seem to have a number of properties in the area's I'm looking for at this price, but the problem is just about all of them seem to be scams from shady real estate companies/agents.

Are there any sites out there with real budget properties for sale? I'm tired of wasting my time with these fake places. I actually went and saw a property listed at $120k with a real estate agent. I liked it and put an offer in. The real estate agent never got back to me.......this was months ago.

I suggest that you check out Carollorealestate.com. You can get a decent 1 bedroom co-op for that price in Queens. Try Jackson Heights or Kew Gardens. I've visited Georgetown Mews and Daria Gardens in Flushing and I liked both of them.

I would also goggle the area that you are interested in. Maybe you can contact the co-op directly.
