Hi all,

I'm currently planning on visiting the East Coast with my dad for college reasons...but we were wondering how the roads/amenities/hotels have been impacted by Sandy. We know the physical aspects (cold, wet, no-fun weather) are bad, but we're pretty hardcore in that respect.

What we DO need to know is if the practical aspects are deal breakers.

Do these things sound possible?

1. Renting a car and making it up the coast, staying in hotels
2. Flying out of New York/Boston/etc.
3. Using public transit (we know subway is out)
4. Food isn't scarce, is it? Hope not.

We're pretty optimistic...almost nothing you can say will discourage us, so please be honest! : )

Thank you so much for the feedback...please only answer if you are ACTUALLY living near or in the places impacted by Sandy.

None of those four things are issues at this point.
