By what avenue do you live on? If you don't mind me asking how much do you pay and how big is your apartment? Just curious what's the average rent like over there for a studio, 1-bedroom, etc. I was walking around there in the daytime and by 9th, 10th and 11th from 53rd to about 46th and on the non-condo buildings I saw a couple Italian, Puerto Rican, Mexican and Irish flags and the demographics of the neighborhood still feel pretty mixed and not your typical manhattan crowd... Granted, you're bound to find that crowd and they do have a number of bars and spots that I saw that had a yuppy scene but it's not as outright as neighborhoods like Chelsea, Soho, East Village and even parts of LES... It seems more laid back around there...
