NYCHA Certified Applicants (York: sublet, bankrupt, living in)

Hello all. I applied to NYCHA in 2011. I was initially given a priority of N3. I was called for an interview later that year. I was certified July 17 2013 to a housing development under priority W2. Does anyone know what is happening with the people on the waitlist for developments affected by the NYCHA and developers deal? Are they still moving people in or is there a freeze on the apartments? Almost 2 years since certification and I am beyond worried.

Kimberly if you are under Nycha outreach you can call the head of Nycha in Manhattan and you will be able to pick a development that has vacancies only if its been two years or over that you have been waiting to see an apartment. You will automatically get in. I know this because i have been waiting for an apartment for a year and 19 days so i called the head of nycha and the lady told me if i dont get selected by my certification date next year i will automatically get place in a development that i choose that has vacancies.

Hi WillMary. Shortly after my last post, NYCHA offered me to stay with my original development (the development that was being taken over by the private developers) on their waitlist but also allowed me to pick from a new list of anticipated vacancies. I made my choice and retained my original certification of July 13- 2013. I was not offered an outreach and I am still waiting to be offered an apartment.

hey all i applied may 2014 finally received an interview november 16 2015 and i picked a development certified now since dec 2nd 2015 i know now all i have to do is wait i read so many post does anyone know about cypress hills houses how long there wait is

Hello everyone!! I turned in my documents 10/09/15 had my eligibility interview 10/27/15 and been certified since 10/29/15 N1 priority for a 1 bedroom in the borough of Manhattan. Waiting...waiting....waiting..

You are correct on that waiting part, you picked Manhattan thats the longest boro wait.

I got certified less then two months after interview called for apartment same day as certification.... Paid for apartment now waiting on keys

What was your priority? Where is your project in Brooklyn? Is it safe there?
