Gentrification already fills that role for me, no need to head to LGA which is 2 miles away from my apt, instead of flying to Wisconsin when the 6 train is 1 blocks away. Union Square bound.
LOL! I should introduce you to my friend. Blond, light eyes, 20 something, and midwestern. The icing on the cake is that she (only) dates black guys.
They only look exotic because there is less of that look around here in NYC. I was at a party and my guy's Swedish friends were gushing over how pretty my skin (I'm solidly brown and would not be considered even close to light skinned), face (classic high African cheek bones), and hair (big and natural) are. In case you're not familiar with how Swedish women look, I swear every single one of them could probably be a model: tall, slender, blond, light eyes. So it was interesting feedback to get from people that grew up in an environment where every other woman looks damn near like a fashion model. BTW, I was totally like the token black girl at that party LOL
Something similar happened to me in Stockholm! And in Seoul too, for that matter. Except, I was the token black girl on the COUNTRY. Some people hate what is different, while others are intrigued and left breathless by it.
There is a man who is from the West Bronx who but bacame a Transplant like many Bronxites and other New Yorkers who moved westcoast, his name is Tom Leykis, he tells it like it is.
That guy is a jackhole. He's also fat and ugly.
I can't believe men are actually take HIS advice on how to get and treat women, but unfortunately, they are. I met one young guy who said that treating a woman like garbage was the "new dating" and the girls didn't seem to mind. Now, this was in LOS ANGELES, because I never heard of him before moving there.

Can someone explain why, if men get more attractive with age, it's precisely the middle-aged older men who go to strip clubs and prostitutes a lot? The typical customer in a strip club is not a young guy, it's a man in his 40s or 50s.
Exactly. The TRUTH of the matter is that although "some" men age like fine wine MANY, MANY others do not. Straight older men really need to take a clue from their gay counterparts.
Most older gay men look good for their age, because they continue to hit the gym for as long as they're able. Many straight men get fat, let themselves go, lose their hair (then do horrible comb overs instead of either cutting it all off or getting a style that's appropriate for their new balding look), stop dressing nice, etc.
Also, many are socially awkward with no game or got married right after college, then divorced and have no clue on how to talk or approach a woman. Let's not even talk about how bad they are in bed!

Because men just like to tell themselves they get more attractive with age, while women steeply decline in attractiveness.

It is the actions that count, as you have noticed.
It's actually the OPPOSITE. More women tend to work out, pamper themselves and keep it together for as long as they can, while most aging men are fat, sloppy, have saggy faces, balding, false teeth, etc., but YET, they've somehow convinced themselves that they're aging "gracefully". LOL!
I blame the invention of Viagra for this newfound delusion.
I find women from the midwest hot for some reason, I think they look better than native NYC woman.
I do understand what you mean by the above, except I don't find them the least bit "exotic".
It's the fact that the ethnic whites in NYC in no way, shape or form resemble the wasps that cover the majority of the other states.
I never found white men attractive here growing up and neither did any of my friends. We just didn't and had no desire for any. It's like all of the good looking white men were on TV or in the movies and you NEVER saw those types walking the streets.
Once I moved to LA, the white men there were an entirely different ballgame. Most of them were GORGEOUS or just very, very pleasing to look at. They also didn't have a problem approaching black women either.
Unfortunately, wasp transplant men here in NYC look NOTHING like the ones out west or in the south. I saw some real cuties in Virginia as well. This city gets all the "smart" or "creative" people.
But yeah, I get what you mean about their look being "different", since it's new to the city.
Some of these midwestern women are hot but they have no sense of style. There is a hot woman underneath the frumpy clothes.
