I hear everyone say about Sunnyside to go north of queens bvld.. Is there something wrong with south of queens bvld or is it just not as nice looking? What's the deal with that
The south side of Sunnyside is near the cemetery, so I'm sure you wouldn't want to live there. I do agree that the area is a bit more rough-looking than the North side.
South side has the very best neighborhood, Sunnyside Gardens, absolutely lovely. If you can get something there go for it. The only drawback is a fairly long walk to the train and bus.
Sunnyside Gardens looks like it's on the north side of the neighborhood. It doesn't look like the walk is that far from the 7, though I guess that might depend what you're used to. I like the look of the houses not facing the street:
Are particular streets south of queens bvld you'd suggest staying away from?
I think anywhere in Sunnyside is safe. North vs south is mostly a matter of aesthetics and money--the north side is a bit more expensive.
