Ya know, it's very hard to be happy in a relationship if you aren't happy being by yourself first.

Ask your friends to set you up. All of my serious love relationships have been through set ups.

But being in the city and feeling lonely? I think a lot of it has to do with everyone's lives being totally spread out all over the city.

I aint in the game, so I am the last to give you advice. But I have plenty singles in family, friends, coworkers, neighbors, and as an outsider I notice that dating or relationship success follows their own personalities. The ones that are ****ed up, cant date ****.

NYC is extremely segregated and even though there are 8MM+ NYC'ers, the options aren't that great (in terms of numbers).

NYC is segregated in terms of ethnicity and also socio-economic strata. Take these two into account and the pool isn't that great for many folks.
