I think this is such a cool idea and could be great for a city like NYC. Ecobici is currently implemented in Mexico City and is basically a bike sharing program that costs 300 Pesos annually (about $23/year). I think this would be highly sucessful in NYC!
Yeah, but in NYC instead of $23/year, it's $10/day (OK, or $100/year). And, as I predicted, it didn't happen. We'll see about this May, but I remain doubtful.
