I walked by the Jolly Tinker Inn on the corner of Bedford Park Boulevard and Webster Ave on a recent Tuesday night and the place was packed with 20-somethings and they were mostly white. What gives? Is this a Fordham student hangout or are these neighborhood residents?
I remeber when I was in high school in the 90's, a lot of the kids from the Woodlawn and McLean avenue section of Yonkers would sometimes go there in Junior/Senior year. Never really understood why they would go to that particular place, but perhaps that is still the case today??
It's been a Fordham hangout for ages (more upperclassmen I'd say). Although it's not exclusively Fordham students - probably more of a mix than most Fordham bars.
It's a Fordham student bar. It is one of the few that has managed to hang on. It's exterior was damaged in the 1977 electrical black out riot by minority youths. Thankfully, it survived and perhaps may help usher in a new era for our once beatiful Bronx once gentification takes hold along that corridor.

Been a Fordham bar for many years. There used to be the Green Lantern and Clarks down near Fordham but they closed shop. With those 2 closing that made the Tinker more of a Fordham spot. Used to have a great Football team at the Tinker. Actually the guy in Henna photo was the QB.
Umm..WebsterAveGuy..there were no riots in NYC in 1977...just a black out. Youths, of every color, went on a shopping spree...not just minority youth. But thanks for the usual race baiting.

Gee, were you there? I knew a guy who used to hang out there and he told me. You have any eye witnesses that say otherwise?
You need to be less trollish and more accuratish.
