I'm sure your right.

But the man put a cig out on the floor of his place of dwelling. Who does that?
That alone tells me the type person that he is.

The irony of this being that China is the fourth biggest country in the world.

now if this place went on fire, who is to blame.....no one in their right mind should live like that, and i am sorry, i cant get the man smoking a cig in that environment out of my head, that just terrifies me.

The thing is people shouldn't have to live like this, but that's what they can afford. Chances are he will find a small room with friends in Chinatown. They stick together. The problem I have with it is he was content with it, knew the chances of death, but was kicked out anyways and they won't help him go anywhere else. I'm sure they will flick him a dime when he is on the streets though!

Anyone else find it odd this guy has lived here for 30 years and doesn't know how to speak English? If you come here, legally or illegally, at least make an attempt to somewhat integrate into society.

The City has known about this for decades.
So the question becomes why are they moving on this now?

As always, all the wrong questions are being asked.

This is no more a fire hazard than it was 20 years ago.

The push to develop Chinatown has begun. None of these landlords have the money to bring these buildings up to code. They will be forced to sell.

What's the address of the building? Is it on the periphery of Chinatown?

I also find it odd that he has been here for 30 years and is no better off now than he was 30 years ago. if nothing else, learn the freaking language.

i rather go back to my own country, than live like that.
and if he lived worse than that in his own country, than it is his own fault for being a lazy bum and not trying to better himself.
