What I don't understand is, now Bloomberg is going to appeal, what is this appeal crap, he didn't like the ruleing, so he goes before another judge until he gets the ruleing he wants.
No that's how everyone does it because that is how our system is set-up..it's called checks and balances. It works it's way up the chain to various local, and state courts, the final being the Supreme Court. It's normal and the way it is supposed to work.
The owner of a multibillion dollar company fighting other multibillion dollar companies for the benefit of the little guy!
I almost shed a tear.
Hey since all the cardinals are gathered now in the Vatican maybe we can start a petition for canonization and eventual sainthood?
Sobroguy will deliver the petition to the pope.

I'm not sure how many lawyers YOU can afford or how many appeals YOU can pay for, but at $350 an hour, I cannot afford many. And I am definitely part of "EVERYBODY."
Bloomberg can litigate until the universe reaches maximum entropy.

But the judge said no. NO, the judge said no. What part of No, doesn't the Mayor get???
the answer was no. no no no
awww, the little baby didn't like the answer so now he is going to appeal to get his little way, because he cares so deeply for all the citizens of the city.
Again, this isn't about one judge saying no. We have a system in place, up to and including the Supreme Court. If you don't understand the system, or agree with it, that's fine, but it was created for checks and balances and it works equally for everyone.
You should note that you don't need a $350/hr attorney or billions of dollars to take cases to a Supreme Court....lots of "regular" people do it just fine. Having all that money though sure helps.
So much vitriol for a man that is actually trying to help you....as they say..you can only take a horse to water... gotta love Americans!

But the Judge said NO, what part of the word NO, are you not getting.
The ban went before a judge, the Judge said no.
that is the final answer.
and lets say Bloomie goes before another Judge and the answer remains No, does he appeal again, and again, until he gets the answer that suits him?
Nightcrawler, you don't understand the system..the Judge saying "no" is not the final answer. The only final answer is the Supreme Court. This system is not new, it is not unique to billionaires, it is how our entire judicial process was established since Day 1.
Bloomberg can appeal as many times as he likes (or rather, as many times as the higher courts will allow as they can choose not to revisit a case and simply send it back to a lower court), and the soda companies, if they don't like a Judge's answer, can (and will) appeal also, until they get the answer they want. If the judge allowed the restriction, the soda companies would be doing the same thing Bloomberg is doing: appealing. And they have every right to.
