I find it is expensive to buy a bike in NYC.
I am in upper east side of Manhattan now.
Where can I get a cheap bike?
Thank you.

Depending upon what kind of bicycle you want, there are some options. Some specialty shops will be a tad more expensive, but I'd check the Sports Authority on 3rd Avenue between 51st and 52nd.

Some of the best prices are going to be online, however, but shipping can add up, so I'd check a site like Overstock.com that has fixed shipping costs. It's a good place to check, especially if you know what you want and can wait until it's delivered.

There's also a Sears in the Newport Mall which is just on the other side of the Holland Tunnel in Jersey City (PATH accessible). You could check the Sears website and see if they have a bicycle you like that can be picked up in the store.

You should also check Craigslist.
