Back in 1990, it was about 70% Black (Now it's closer to 80%). However, I read on Wikipedia that Wakefield used to be mostly Irish & Italian until the 1980s, so I assume that this area (Edenwald) was also mostly Italian.

From what I heard from white Plains road to Bronxdale avenue wad mostly Italian. When I was in high school I had a math teacher, she is Jewish and she used to live in the very same house that a student currently lived in. This is near Bronxwood Avenue. The areas east of white plains was mostly Jewish with a mix of Italian.

Not a expert on the area. I did go to HS in that area. In the 80's it seemed predominately black.
