I mean..i go to museums and "touristy" things all the time. Just look normal

In addition to the above advice, dress well.

Cheap "dad jeans" from wal-mart and dirty sneakers call out a tourist a mile away. And the tourists dressed this way generally tend to be overweight.

Treat the sidewalk like its a street. Don't stop short or walk 5 people across and you'll be good.

If riding the subway don't clog the door - move further in if there's room. If sitting and there are no more seats offer your seat to an older woman. Also don't wear a huge backpack while riding the subway, just take it off.

Hail a cab in the direction you want to go, if you're going north don't hail a cab on a southbound avenue.

Don't spend a dime in Times Square.

......and VISIT THE BOROUGHS.
