So now that the mayoral elections are coming in the fall, who do you think will run the city better? A Democrat or a Republican.

I am a Democrat and I voted for Obama. But... I don't think a Democrat will run the city better. Think of all the unions and welfare hand outs that the city will give out? If the Republican is progressive (like Bloomberg) I am all for it!! They seem very conservative with money and all about making business progress and create new jobs. Or I am I wrong? When Republicans are in power the city seems to run better.

What do you think?

Perhaps you should reconsider, given the reality that Bloomberg is a Republican in *name* only!

He chose to run on the Republican line, because it was the only major party available to him. The Democrat party being controlled by corrupt fiefdoms and dominated by *machine* politics, the living evolved remnants of Tammany Hall!!

Bloomberg, not being a part of, nor willing to succumb to, the "machine", the Democrat option simply was not available.

You might also think on Rahmn Emanuel, Jewish, Democrat, former Obama chief of staff, and present Mayor of Chicago. How do you thin that Democrat is doing, so far?

Democrat or Republican, what does it matter in NYC? As long as there is a mayor who is not corrupt, and not beholden to the Democrat Machine, the ciity will have a chance to continue moving forward.

Vote for Joe Lhota, our only hope!

******

Will Govenor Cuomo ever clean out the incredibly corrupt NYS legislative body!!

Go back in recent history and compare mayors by political stance, it will be pretty obvious that right leaning mayors have done right by the city of New York. Things get pretty bad when a Democrat runs the show.

Just look at just about every ghetto across the US and you will notice that the party that has a stronghold in the area are DEMOCRATS.

Dems have always gotten the vote of the poor, who live in Ghettos.

Dinkins damaged the Democratic brand for mayor. Similar to Dubbya.

Mayor John Lindsay was a liberal republican who built a lot of housing projects in NYC, as did his predecessor Robert Wagner, a democrat.

Truthfully, it will not matter if a Democrat or Republican runs the city. Welfare handouts are made possible with federal funds, and said funding has been cut back since the 90s.

Neither.
We need to totally dump this system. It's not a progressing system, it's draining resources and relies on scarcity and wasted materials. It's as inefficient as it gets. A republican or democrat don't know the solutions to fix these problems, we need to approach these problems with the scientific method.
