We currently reside in Mill Basin of Brooklyn, New York and I am looking to relocate somewhere closer to Manhattan (Downtown Brooklyn perhaps). I am not that familiar with areas outside of Mill Basin/Canarsie of Brooklyn (and the area around the Court Street movie theater vicinity) & Lenox Hill of Manhattan so I'm at a loss here.
We rent a 3 bedroom 2 bath apartment for $2200 and I am not too fond of the area.
I work in the Lenox Hill area of Manhattan grossing $240k and common law partner works in Midtown of Manhattan grossing $58k. We have two children. A second grader in Charter School and a toddler in child care.
I PREFER NOT to live in Manhattan as it is TOO expensive and crowded. So Brooklyn/Downtown it would be. Not too quiet. I like the store front appeal like Park Slope nothing more than a 15 minute drive from Barclay's.
Therefore we seek a 3 with 1.5 - 2 bathrooms. Hoping not a problem but we are trying to do this w/ a maximum of $3600. (If options are limited, how much higher would we have to go?)
We are both in our late-twenties. I am Black of Venezuelan descent raised in the West Indies and he is African-American so somewhere diverse.
