The fact that the one guy even has a bank account puts him ahead of many people in this city.

I'm not sure what this is getting at however. Is it any surprise that there are people in this city with a million dollars in savings and others without much? So what are you / the article proposing? Should the guy with the larger account give some of his money to the guy who couldn't withdraw funds?

i can't believe he blamed obama for taking from the rich to give to the poor.

obama has not given me a dime since he has been in office.

all i see is gentrification everywhere, nothing for poor people except
the same old run down living conditions.

exactly! who would do that? Especially since only 250k of that money is back by the government. If a bank run happens, he loses out on 750k!

that million dollars in a savings account probably doesn't even make 1% interest.

Should "he give you a dime"?

How do you know that? That savings account is not a normal bank savings account for sure. Notice he is getting charged a fee for withdrawing. I know that with Chase if you have over $75,000 you have Premier and are not charged any fees at any ATMs. Whatever institution that person keeps their $1mil, they are not getting those premium perks, so there must be some other benefits (such as high interest rate). Also, I think that $1mil is locked, that's why they attempted to withdraw from credit first.

Move to a communist country. America that I grew up in was and is a capitalist country. Go to a good school and actually attend class. Get into a good career and become successful.
