I think there might be sometime in the future. It would probably be either Yonkers or bordering cities in north east jersey in the New York metropolitan area in my opinion. I don't really consider Long Island as part of the NY metropolitan area because its almost like a place people go when people retire. Not really fast life like the 5 boroughs, Yonkers, westchester, north east NJ area are. Thäs my opinion. I also don't consider Connecticut as part of the NY metro area either because most of the people there are more influenced by the Massachusetts area rather than the New York area in my opinion. What stopped Yonkers from being the 6th borough years and years ago? I do hope it stays just 5 boroughs though. It's been like that forever so why change it? The 6 or 7 boroughs just doesn't have that ring that "The 5 boroughs" have.
You're gonna have to be more specific. What I said about not considering Long Island and Connecticut as part of NY metro area is my opinion from my personal experience there.
Revis, man, you ask some weird questions. Why do you think cultural closeness is the reason an area does or does not join another one? It's all about the money. Just about any area bordering NYC probably would pay more money into the city than it gets out. This is why any suburb incorporates on the outskirts of a big city, so its money stays serving its own.
