Planning on moving to NY city in the fall and I currently work in sale (which I love). I am one of the top sales people where I work at, but I'm hoping to move to NY for a bigger money.
Would someone please recommend the best industries or companies for someone that wants to work in sales in the NY area.
I currently hold and MBA and have 6 years inside sale exp.
(digital) media sales or sales within the tech/digital field. These jobs are base + commission. Though, like a lot of things, if that's not your background it can be tricky getting into that industry.

My background is in It sales and college admissions recruiting when that industry had quotas. I want to break in to media sales, but any high commission position would work for me as well.

There is also the LUMA Partners digital media ecosystem maps. The digital landscape is really complex and there are a lot of different types of players in it. LUMA Partners put together a series of charts that diagram all of the companies that play in the space and how they interact with each other. There are charts for display, search, gaming, social , video, etc. It's a good resource to understand what the specific companies are in each vertical (there are A LOT). Almost all of these companies on the charts will have sales departments:
stockbroker/financial advisory. big bucks but cut throat. you would need to pass the series 7 & 63
