My Dominican neighbors are louder than we are - they have more parties and their parties are loud, even kids parties. But it's not like music is blasting on a regular basis so it doesn't bother me. Blasting music regularly is rude, not cultural.
I really have to wonder if everyone on here is a grownup sometimes. No offense if that is not the case with you Grosvenor, but most people as adults learn not to articulate this type of thing even if it is what they think. Something else could be off, but it could also be an age/maturity thing.
I've heard that too. Went to get a haircut Sunday and the person doing my hair said she has lived in Washington Heights for 38 years and informed me that the area is becoming nicer with more Caucasians and Asians moving in. Not to imply that alone makes a place better, but I think she welcomes the diversity. She's Puerto Rican herself. I've been there to visit friends and I like the spacious apartments. I didn't find it especially noisy but don't know what goes on at night.

That's the problem with our society today. Everyone is worried about being politically correct instead of speaking the truth.
Yah when one actually has to work for a living and pay rent I guarantee they won't be about blasting music 24/7. People who work full time and have to pay for things require sleep and blasting music all night isn't an option.
That reminds me of something my friend told me. He lived in Washington Heights and one night when the music was on full blast at 2am in the morning, his neighbor shouted into the courtyard something to the effect that he loves the music but he needs to get up for work in the morning so turn the music off. His neighbor is Dominican.
I have been Pro Dominican since I have been on the forum .. I said that as a joke. But in reality Dominican neighborhoods tend to be loud neighborhoods .. even Dominican areas of New Jersey where I used to live they were loud. And to be honest, that's why I prefer Dominican Hoods ..
If I had a Million Dollars to spend right now .. My first choice of a new home would be One of those townhouses near and around 181st or 162nd (Because it's a parking garage on that street)
There is actually a Limestone for sale right now on 162nd for $1.1 Million ... But, It's way out of my Price Range .. But in my Dreams .. that would be my idea house and Neighborhood ...
I like the noise and parties .. I love Dominican Hoods .. They're very social people, I'm a social person .. Nuff said
So, If you want to get upset because I'm speaking of my experiences then so be it .. As you see .. The mods didn't listen to you because their was nothing offensive about my comment so stop being so sensitive ..
