curious here, is drinking non alcoholic beer (like O' Doul's) from the bottle in public a violation? the non alcoholic brew still contains a trace amount of alcohol so could it still be considered alcohol?

If it's non-alcoholic.. I wouldn't think so.

I've received several open container tickets since living in the city. Once.. two seperate tickets in a night.

The tickets aren't much trouble anyway. It's been a while since I've had a ticket.. but, I want to say that they're only $25 a piece and you can mail a check to an address on the back of the ticket - you don't even have to go to the courthouse.

ODouls contains about an eigth of the alcohol of a beer. It is considered an alcoholic beverage by the State Liquor Authority.

Dont know if the cops will give you a ticket but technically it is an alcoholic beverage.
