I checked out 811 Walton and I was glad to see what was happening there. It is nice to be right on a park also....lots of greenery when you look outside. There are of course shady blocks...and there will likely always be...that's just how the city is....
no that's just how that part of the bronx is there are many places to live where you don't have to deal with crap that you would there
Well please let everyone know where you can buy a 1 bedroom co-op for under $200,000 in NYC and still be within 30 minutes to midtown, 3 blocks to an express train station as well as 4 blocks to a metro-north station (coming soon!), be across the street from a park, be within 6 blocks to a variety of restuarants and bars, 7 blocks to major shopping like Target, Bed Bath & Beyond, & Marshalls, plus more outdoor dining and retail coming into the new Gateway Center (coming soon!), be 5 blocks to a watefront esplanade as well as bike paths that lead straight into the city.......we would all like to know.
i wouldnt even want to live around there because of the congestion on game nights.....too much for my tastes. i can do that big white building on the concourse - maybe.
Yes game nights can either be viewed as a pain in the a**, or as a time to go out and enjoy the crowds and the excitement. Depends on your view and lifestyle.
And the big white building is called Executive Towers...it does have parking and a decent lobby, as well as good views from the upper floors wtih balconies.

absolutely, but as for me personally i dont think i would be able to deal with it coming home from work.
Yes true...especially if you drive it would be lunacy! The train is not as bad though...and with the new MetroNorth station coming...it will alleviate the train congestion.
Parkchester is fine. I've lived there for about 4 years and my inlaws and some other relatives live there. I've walked around there alone, late and night and nothing has happened to me. I'm female with a mohawk, etc and I haven't been harassed or anything. There are stores galore, a nice park with a fountain that is beautiful in the summertime. I was going to buy a condo there but it didn't work out. I actually miss parkchester. There are tons of working class people, families with children. I've been in the Bronx for a long time before my husband got relocated to Georgia and people had me terrified of living there before I came. I must say just like brooklyn and even manhattan it has its ugly areas but there are some beautiful ones. It just gets a bad rap. People made me feel like I would get robbed or raped on a daily basis living there. I've never been a victim of crime and haven't yet seen a crime.
