What are some intersections that you try your best to avoid crossing? Near my residence is where Union Tpke meets Woodhaven Blvd. Woodhaven has some notorious intersections like Jamaica Avenue but I almost never see people even attempt to cross this one.

It isn't uncommon for traffic lights to get hit over here. In fact, when I took this pic, one of them did get hit and got sent to the great street in the skies.

That traffic light going south on woodhaven gets taken out every other month. Cars speeding off that overpass where woodhaven changes from being 3 lanes without a divider into 3 lanes with a divided. I've seen some pretty nasty accidents over there. Where you are standing in the photo, be careful for the cars making the illegal right turn onto union tpke. Always worth crossing woodhaven from the south side of union if going to say, pizza classica, for example. The camera catching cars running the red light north bound on woodhaven is a cash cow for the city.

Some parts of Richmond Avenue are downright scary to cross. That portion by the SI Mall is literally 12-14 lanes wide. By say, Barnes & Noble by Draper Place, it's slightly narrower, but between all the cars trying to turn from Draper Place, and the cars coming directly from Richmond, you need to have cat-like reflexes to know when to cross at times when traffic is heavy, because the cars usually don't cut you a break.

Urban planning at its finest....

The intersection of Union Turnpike and Queens Boulevard is uber-hectic. I almost got hit by a truck catching part of the sidewalk there

I know way too many people that have been hit by cars on queens blvd. One fatality. 3 on bikes, one on foot. The one on foot happened at the intersection you mentioned. I've had an old lady ask me to walk her across once.

I never cross that intersection. I always just walk around and under the overpass instead. It's not worth it.

I used hate crossing Queens Boulevard and Grand Ave in Elmhurst. You basically have to run pass
the intersection unless the green light just turned, there is not nearly enough time for elder people
or children to walk pass the intersection. Queens Boulevard also nicknamed the Boulevard of Death
for a good reason.
