Greetings. I grew up in Brownsville neighborhood close to area in question. I went to PS 183 (General Chappie James) school on Riverdale Avenue. Area is a good investment, but not best Brooklyn area to live and own. Current landlords don't mind renting space to hard-working Caribbean tenants living there, yet are not fans of living next to loud Reggae/Hip-hop music playing and scent of some weed. Most landlords live in Canarsie and collect rent in Brownsville, Ocean Hill, and Bedford-Stuyvestant. If curious of decibels of music played, visit area near Labor Day parade in September.

Just be mindful that these are 4 different neighborhoods. One is THE largest in the city! (if not, one of the largest!). All of them are different!

Except for Weeksville. I think its a subsection of Crown Heights that overlaps a bit into Bed-Stuy. Ocean Hill might be a subsection of Bed-Stuy, but I'm not exactly sure.

I think officially it's a subsection of Bed Stuy but I often hear "Ocean Hill/Brownsville" though, and most of the dudes around there claim Brownsville.

Ocean Hill is a sub-section of Brownsville. I went on the city planning website and they have it listed as part of Brownsville so I think I'm correct.

Brooklyn Community District 16 - New York City Department of City Planning
No, it is a sub section of Bed Stuy. According to the map on that link, the Ocean Hill section is north of Atlantic which would place it in Bed Stuy. That map is of community board 16 which encompasses that part of Bed Stuy and Brownsville. Historically, Bed Stuy was made up of 4 neighborhoods, Ocean Hill being one of them. The others were Weeksville, Stuyesant Heights, and Bedford.

Out of curiosity then, why wouldn't Ocean Hill be part of Bed-Stuy's CB and be part of Brownsville's instead?

Most of weeksville is south of Atlantic. Isn't Atlantic the bed-stuy/crown heights border?

Yes Atlantic Avenue is the border. However prior to 1977 Bed-Stuy extended as far south as Eastern Parkway.
