yes ethnicity was brought into this but never once was anything negative said. i simply spoke of her presence in the local papers and her position in the community. i used the ethnicity thing to compare and ask would caucasians be more conservative than non caucasians regarding the hotel. maybe one of my posts on the surface looked slightly inflammatory(post #3 maybe) but if you read it, closely it's not
This community board member is a lovely person - I don't know why ethnicity was brought into this.
I think the motel is in an odd location, practically on top of that private house. It doesn't scream luxury. I think the motel would have done better in a different location. Maybe they should have bought out the homeowner. Who wants to live right next door to a hotel?
It's not very architecturally appealing. Very functional. I still think its a positive thing for the neighborhood as long as it doesn't become a hot sheets motel.

That's the problem. In terms of getting a liquor license? I would say not a problem. For the newbies in the area French Charlie's operated for years nearby.
I could just picture my germ conscious/alternative medicine obsessed brother and sister in law and their 8 year old son checking into the new Rodeway Inn and staying there while visiting me from Atlanta. It makes me laugh. they'd be like "is there a Whole Foods around here"?
Sorry, someone sent me a reputation asking what happened to Fench Charly's. They closed and it became another spot which didn't last. As the area changed so did the need for FC. BTW the Big Rick is on McClean now.

Really odd to put a hotel on what is by far the most unattractive street in the area.
Bainbridge and Bedford would be better since that's kind of a quaint looking corner but im sure those living there wouldn't like it at all and it's too residential over there anyway
I forgot to mention the RiverRoad Motor Inn in Webster and 233rd street i don't even know what kind of hotel it is but it's fairly attractive too, tho Webster up there looks less industrial than it does in Bedford Park

But the area has been rezoned and its appearance will most certainly change over the next ten years.
