I got a Parking ticket 20 days ago.. The Cop who wrote correct Plate number on the paper ticket but wrong color of the car.. This ticket is $115.. which is hurting me..
Now, I was waiting for online system to show that ticket.. Now when I was checking my ticket number in NYC.GOV system .. It shows different Plate number on the ticket..
For EX my plate no is ABC-11Z then the online system shows ABC-112
The Z charterer became 2 .. and the color of the car is also wrong.. instead of Black it says Blue.
Now my confusion is should I pay the ticket or Not?
I was going through different blogs and Most of the people says .. those ppl can't track you.. because they have wrong plate number in Online information..
and if they send a due notice then it will go to ABC-112 not to ABC-11Z
and I can say just I never got the ticket or any due information.. pls suggest me with you valuable opinions.
Note: In the Online System, it has attachment of the Carbon copy of My ticket which shows 11Z...
One last thing, they don't have my VIN number because this ticket was written manually .. not with any electronic gadget where they scan the VIN number from the front Dash board..
The things you will have to take time out your day (when you probably are working) to go down there.
Very well might not get thrown out since they have an image of the original ticket with the correct numbers and the color difference is blue v.black,which is the most common mistake.Not like the car is blue and the ticket says white or orange.It can be attempted of course but what a waste.
I believe there hasn't been a court option for parking tickets for quite some time. You have to plead not guilty and mail in all your evidence, then an administrative judge makes a ruling and notifies you by mail.
Just please not guilty with a giant "WTF this isn't even my car" in big black marker and you're good to go
