There is/was NO knowledge, much less full knowledge, by anyone in the
government.
The INSTANT the government wants an end to illegal immigration, it will end. The first CEO thrown into prison for abetting illegal immigration will end the process.

We have illegal immigration because corporations demand cheap labor and when corporations speak, the government listens like a good lapdog.

A lot of people hiring illegals are small businesses, especially in sectors like restaurants, small construction firms, etc. While big business in say agriculture may use illegal immigrants in the fields, I just can't imagine JP Morgan Chase or Intel hiring illegals. They wouldn't. They require skilled labor. They might sponsor someone for his or her visa, but that isn't hiring an illegal.

Nonsense. First, there's a cost-benefit analysis. Second, plausible deniability. As someone else mentioned, illegals are generally hired by small business owners and subcontractors. There are no smoking guns, such as a "Hire the illegals, we'll make more profit" emails. Coporations may pay civil penalties, but criminal prosecution, much less conviction, is unlikely.
Also, if throwing CEOs in prison was a deterrent, we would not have Madoff, Enron, Stanford, etc. No one thinks they'll get caught, whether it's the shoplifter or the CEO.

The government is us. Your cheap food is grown, harvested & processed by illegals. You eat in restaurants, staffed with illegals in the kitchen. Your home is cleaned, your lawn mowed, you child watched by illegals. The reduction in labor unions, and right-to-work laws have crushed worker's ability to resist illegals.

Not true, Proctor & Gamble has been caught several times hiring illegals in their factories here in the U.S.

I'll also add as some have commented that this was an extreme case, not only were the illegals pretty much working as slaves but to add insult to injury they also housed them then deducted from their already low wages and overcharged them for rent warehousing these people all together.

The same people owned several 7-11s in NY and surrounding states and may have owned the one you're speaking about in your state too.

Its still more of a small business thing, outside of agriculture and construction. I can't imagine an auto company staffing its factories with illegals. In part, the unions would turn the company in to the government and publically protest.

These 7/11s got BUSTED because someone reported them. So if abuse is going on (hiring of illegals) its up to works, especially American workers, to make complaints to the relevant government agencies, take it to the media, protest, and do whatever else you have to do remedy the situation. Just complaining about it does no good.

If you are aware of a number of companies hiring illegals, you yourself should be out there making complaints, and doing other proactive things such as demonstrations, litigation, whatever.

Link?
Even if true, prosecution would belie the claim that the government supports or condones the practice.

If such a prosecution, doesn't excuse all the reported evidence of illegals working in agriculture and construction.

I think the P & G issue has to do with the Philippines. Not sure.

This happened years ago. I'm from Cincy, headquarters for P&G, it was big news that P&G would have vanloads of illegals picked up in certain areas of the city and had been caught at least twice and continued to be investigated.

It was never my argument that the government condoned any of this. I did try to find past stories but either b/c the story is old or P&G being such a large corporation may have "cleaned it from the internet to avoid having a black eye.

I'll try a little harder later since I'm a little busy at the moment.
