Hello,

My SO recently got a job in SoHo and in order to make his commute easier and have him spend more time at home less time on the road, we'd like to move. Ideally, we'd be in a place that is within a 30 minute commute, and have a 1 or 2 BR that is somewhere around $1500-2000. I realize that this may put us in Brooklyn or NJ, which is fine by me, as long as the area is safe and good for families. We have an infant daughter who will be homeschooled, so we do not need to worry about school districts.

Any advice on areas of NY/NJ that would be good for us to explore are much appreciated!!!

Michelle

Where I live (Ridgewood, Queens) is probably the closest, most affordable, safe neighborhood that you will find. Would be curious myself to know if any other neighborhoods would contend, but I just can't think of any.
