What is the cheapest and safest way to get to Astoria (Broadway and 35th street) from JFK Airport?

For now this seems like the best option for me. I see there is a NYC Airporter bus JFK - LaGuardia for $13. Then I could use a cab from LaGuardia for around $18. So, all together that would be a little bit above $30. What do you think? Is there a better option?

I was looking at public transportation and it seems to me I would need to change transportation three times. Or maybe I am wrong?

Thank you!

AirTrain to Sutphin, E to Roosevelt, R to Steinway, walk down Broadway. If you move fast should take less than an hour.

Either go cheap, as G-Dale suggested ($7.75 or so) or go easy with a cab (probably around $40). Your plan is too expensive, slow and complicated.

Yeah, going cheap is probably faster than going from one airport to the other. Airport cab lines can be a bit of a pain.

Cheapest is take the Q10 from T5 to Union Turnpike, E to Roosevelt and then R to Steinway, that will be $2.50.

It all depends on how much luggage you have and how cheap you want to go.
