Trust me, You wouldn't want to live in Queens. Queens saw the biggest decline in Whites out of any county in America [over 100,000], and we're a very small minority here like The Bronx. In comparision, bordering Brooklyn saw a increase. This borough is meant for Asian and Hispanic immigrants. Hopefully I'll be able to move out soon.

What's the hold up? Don't let the door hit you on the way out

In the same 20 plus years Queens has probably had the far greatest overall population growth of any boro. Is it that the white population has been leaving rapidly or more so that the non-white population has been coming in droves.

What's so terrible about Asian and Hispanic immigrants that you feel you have to leave?
And to where? You have Asian and Hispanic immigrants in the suburbs as well.

As for this link, it is probably somewhere in the ballpark but I would not qualify it as accurate for the reason that Mathjack already indicated. I would use the ACS survey instead.

LIC has come a long way in recent years. You've had film and tv production and Citibank, there, but recently Jet Blue moved its corporate headquarters there. The health department is based there. Citigroup put up a second tower there, and CUNY Law school moved to LIC. You've a lot of expensive condos there now.
The A train to Ozone Park is pretty crowded on weekends, as are buses out there way, because of NYC's only casino which is in Queens. So the gamblers like going out there.
Brooklyn and Manhattan hipsters go to the Rockaways, which are again becoming popular. A number of people do summer rentals.

Queens still has white strongholds. Nabes like Astoria, Whitestone, Woodside, Bayside, Douglaston, College Point, Ridgewood, Middle Village, Rego Park, Glendale, Maspeth, Fresh Meadows, Murray Hill (queens), Woodhaven, Ozone Park, Howard Beach, Briarwood has minorities moving in, but still contains plenty Caucasian.

I find it interesting that people call people of color "minorities" when they are the majority in the world by far, and the majority in NYC. And if you excluded Jews from the white category (how did that happen? If Adam Sandler is white, who isn't?), there would be 10% white in NYC, and that would include other dubious whites like the Italians (Ray Romano is white?), Albanians, Irish, Greeks, etc...the actual white population is nonexistent in NYC, they just keep recruiting new nonwhites to maintain the illusion of dominance. Hispanics are now identifying as white...gotta love it!
The actual whites (Wasps) have zero interest in living with the ethnic "whites", but have little choice in NYC other than prime Manhattan districts...it's preferable to live with the international elite than the ethnic "whites."

Growing up in East New York, being the only white person around isn't fun, trust me. I personally don't like Queens regardless, mostly boring neighborhoods with no character.

A bit of both. Whites number at around 600,000 now. In 1990 [20 years ago], Queens had 1.9 million residents, and was 48% white, which means there was at least somewhere between 900,000-950,000 whites in the borough.

How does that compare to the decrease in the white population of Brooklyn or the Bronx?
