Queens hhas a decent amount of blacks. The 2010 census had it down as 18%. I forget the number for Somerset County, but I think it was also something like 18%.

I checked Wikipedia which claims that Somerset is 9% black, not a large population. Queens has somewhere between 400,000-500,000 blacks, and they pretty much have the whole southeast portion of the borough to themselves.

Not really.
Here are the the counties with the top 5 highest black median household incomes in the NYC area; as well as their black proportion of the population (according to the data)
1st: Somerset County, NJ: $82,612 = 26,687 blacks (8.3% of total pop)
2nd: Nassau County, LI, NY: $78,092 = 139,946 blacks (10.5% of total pop)
3rd: Pike Pike County, PA: $70,590 = 2,879 blacks (5% of total pop)
4th: Suffolk County, LI, NY: $69,447 = 102,622 blacks (6.9% of total pop)
5th: Middlesex County, NJ: $66,412 = 70,851 blacks (8.8% of total pop)
(Keep in mind that the data only takes into account areas with a black population of above 5%. Some of the counties with a very small black pop performed very well).

It's also crazy how [generally] the poorest Blacks in the region live in Manhattan, which has the most economic opportunity on the face of the planet:

It's amazing. What makes the white posters in this thread think that Asians, Hispanics, or black people all want to live near you? We want the same thing you want: good schools, good jobs and safe places to live. I'm sure everyone would prefer to be closer to their own and have these things, but it is not always possible. Asians, Hispanics and African Americans see white people and think the same thing you are thinking about them...so please KNOCK IT OFF! Get over yourselves. The wealthier white people don't seem to have this chip on their shoulders. SMH.

What is your issue with African Americans? Are you jealous that they are earning more than you? Seems like it. You'll get over it.
