Well the area of Claremont Park I'm talking about is the very top of it. Literally touching the top.

There are a lot of 90's era suburban houses. So something did happen to the original housing stock. But there are also tenements left which is not the case with Charlotte Street area...the epicenter

Whitlock you keep saying west of concourse or west of webster is better than east, which is not true. The last murder rate had the 46th precinct with a higher murder rate than any except the 40th. The 44th is usually at or higher than the 42nd murder rate.

Sobro, morrisania is the south bronx in any definition, lay off the pipe.

And rlrl, that area around vyse and the 170s was about as bombed out as it got. Hell it was still a wasteland well into the 90's

Op has plans to stay close to Mount Eden Pkwy adjacent to Bronx-Lebanon and Grand Concourse. Its a better location for her than waiting on a bus somewhere between Webster and Third.

SuperWario...you don't dictate neighborhood lines! Morrissania is the southernmost neighborhood of the Central Bronx, which goes all the way up to Fordham..North of Fordham is the north Bronx. Lay off the mamajuana.

Ok I could agree. I'm just saying can't paint the entire area and say it's better or worse. There are blocks on the west side worse than Webster and Third, and vice versa. There really isn't much of a difference.

You're probably the only person in the world that doesn't think Morrisania is the south Bronx. For the record, my morrisania is from E 161st up to about the cross Bronx. You wouldn't consider E 167th and Webster, and the massive housing projects there south Bronx? How bout East Morrisania aka Crotona Park East?

What about Highbridge?

I know people from there that say they're from the south Bronx....and they grew up there in the 1960s-1980s
