Pardon the generalization about one part of Kingsbridge near Riverdale, I meant IN the direction of Riverdale along the 1 line. So i wasn't too off about safety. Love the informative posts from nyckiddo!

If you wanna know transportation optios from said location to said location within the borough of Bronx nykiddo provides. Everytime.
But if I look at posts from 2007. Wouldn't that be outdated? Some people say the area is getting better and some say the area ia getting worse lol. Dont know what to expect
If you're looking to buy, I'd take nyckiddo's suggestion and look at the areas farther up and elsewhere. How much are you willing to spend? Must it be a SFH? I owned a rather large 2/2 with office and it appreciated very well bc the area was (and continues to be) in demand. When it comes to buying, you really don't want to play "roll the dice" with a neighborhood. That area might not be drive by central, but you could do better.
In the future, you might have kids. That should be taken into consideration when you're selecting a neighborhood to invest in as a primary residence.
I've never known that area to have much nightlife or food. The area is largely apartments with SFH here and there and urban. You will be commuting to those things..in fact, chances are you'll be commuting to those things many places in the Bronx. The Bronx is largely residential; however, there are places that have more amenities than others. Throggs Neck has E Tremont Avenue, Pelham Pkwy has White Plains Road.
Fordham road in general is busy during the day , quiet at night. Grand concourse up in that area is quieter than the other parts of conrourse more south. It really depends on block by block.
I usually find that Fordham and concourse and the main business roads are safe to walk even at night. Is the side streets and the back streets that you have people hanging out and up to no good.
You will see alot of ghettoness on fordham road and in the area in general. I feel like this is the flavor and it is not going to change soon. There re alot of section 8 and welfare so you will see all that too.
It depends on what your conmfortable but ill tell you that from fordham to 183 from concourse to university it is mostly dominicans and some africans in the area... Drive by on a hot summer night see for your self
