nope. this is all to generate votes from the poor black & hispanic population
^ Unfortunately, this happens most of the time. The Mayoral candidates who didn't join in sleep-over (ex. Joe Lhota, John Catsimatidis, etc.) don't expect much votes from working class/poor living in the NYCHA projects. Those Mayoral candidates who participated in East Harlem have a little more respect for same population. The only way more respect will be afforded to them from politicians, is if they consistently vote in large numbers like they come out to free concerts. Maybe construction projects (ex. new playgrounds) and job programs can start after elections are over. It is ironic that sleep-over happened on one of hotttest nights of summer.
Nothing revolutionary overnight, but there's no telling what may evolve over time.
Wonder what they all talk about when they're more or less alone.
This candidate sleepover in the PJs made me think about Chicago Mayor Jane Byrne who slept overnight in ChiTown's notorious Cabrini Green projects in 1981. It took a long time, but the last of those projects were eventually destroyed in 2011 -- 30 years later.
