i work in an outpatient clinic. i have always worked with idling schoolbuses outside the building (but the fumes don't come into the bldg the buses are too far away) since 1990 and in 2004 we moved to a new extension of our bldg. the new extension used to be a tile factory and a dry cleaners. and on the other side of the bldg is a small refrigeration company where vans idle and fumes can come in but again theyre really too far off.
could be all these things i don't know but its all water under the bridge now. we are near a subway yard and electric stuff my coworker and her daughter lived across the street and the daughter got lung cancer in 2003. maybe theres something in the environment near the subway yards but again, all water under the bridge
there is an alternative nutrition place on WP Rd the soursop sounds interesting
I'm sorry to hear that, rlrl. I work in an oncology department in a hospital here in the city and I can tell you that the cancer care in NYC is very good across the board. I'm sure you will be cared for very well.
brem--i go to the Montefiore Medical Park Cancer Ctr in the bronx. last year the surgeons did a great job and the biopsy came out negative. unfortunately multiple lung nodules showed up on an x ray and ctscan as part of a routine yearly check up.
culdesac im not having any symptoms except for some odd aches in the sides and upper back. not pain per se but it's just there. it could be from the surgery last year (had a skin graft which is healing nicely) or a pulled muscle or a pinched nerve. it could also be the cancer pressing on a nerve unfortunately but other than that im not having any symptoms.
the doc checks my lymph nodes and they're all fine
I wish you the best of luck with your upcoming treatment, and am very sorry to hear about your illness. Bremsstraleng is right, NYC is known for exceptional cancer care.
This could happen to anyone at any time. A loved one of mine was diagnosed with a brain tumor last year relatively young - seems to not be any risk factors either.
