Yes, indeed! If you look, there's something for everyone. Do you like the water? Try Throggs Neck/Clason's Point/City Island. Do you like dense urban, close to walkable amenities? Try Pelham Parkway/WPR area. Do you like greenspace? Try Sedgwick/Van Cortland Park area.

Sorry, when I said we manage to keep our monthly expense under $1200 before, I meant we split the bills 50/50 so we contribute roughly that amount each to the bills every month.

True, but at the end of the day, your very income/savings is the real deal breaker. Hopefully, the buying market is still this good price-wise by the time my wife and I have our down payment fully saved up in a couple of years.

Google for sale properties in 10467. You might find something there, albeit the square footage is probably going to be smaller. But the area is pretty good and has been good for years.

Why not just sit tight 'til you get your RN.
One often jumps to the conclusion that renting is always a waste of money but that isn't necessarily so.
