A huge new structure, over ten stories high, and shaped like a block or a fortress, is rising at the southwest quadrant of Pelham Parkway and the Hutchinson River Parkway, in The Bronx. Can anyone give me its name or a link to a news story or web site about it?
---
It appears to be concrete, with few windows. It resembles a Berlin Flakturm!
Thanks.

I think it only looks like it will have no windows because of it's current state of construction. It's going to be a hotel, offices, restaurants and a fitness center among other things. The hotel is supposed to occupy the top 7 floors. It's supposed to finished by next Spring. There is also a new apartment complex to go up on the old stables next door ,on Pelham Parkway, but they haven't succeeded in evicting the stable yet. - Pelham Parkway Towers
This is also exactly where the new proposed Morris Park metro north stop will be located.
That sure came outta left field.....nobody said anything about Boogie Down.
I was referring to the article that Bluedog posted. It said something like "Brooklyn and Queens added a lot of hotels over the decade, but the Boogie Down can catch up".
The fortress looking building is actually going to be a back up 912 call center. The hotel will be the building currently under construction to the right.
Man, I really hate how some people still refer to the Bronx as the "Boogie down". It really helps keep the boroughs ghetto image alive.
Alot of the locals esp longtime ones dont even use that name much anymore......alot of locals call it "the X" or "the BX"
u suggesting the hipsters give it some corny name like NoMan (North of Manhattan) or SoWes (South of westchester)?
