You would be treated rudely, but chinese patrons are treatedly rudely also. The chinese culture is not one politeness.

My husband and I have eaten in authentic Flushing restaurants many times and have never felt ostracized or uncomfortable. Also in Thai and Indian places in Woodside/Jackson Heights. At the end of the day, they're running a business.
Always wondered that. For example, if a white person were to walk into a Chinese restaurant in Flushing, would they be treated rudely?
Interesting question to ask about New York City establishments in year 2013. Any rude customer who walks without humility into restaurant run by folk of different ethnic background than s/he deserves to be treated the same.
