Are curtains/window shades not cool? Do they like people looking at them through their window?

No, I've been driving up and down west side highway and brooklyn and notices that many newly built lofts, condos, and apts have the curtains all tied up and you can see everything inside. Very inviting to criminals and peeping toms.

Hipsters can't afford those new buildings so that's a different demographic.

I've always noticed something else: everyone in those buildings with huge windows has a different color window covering, and it looks silly.

Hes not wrong... Unfortunately my neighbor rented out his second floor apartment to this hipster couple... This one real ghetto white trash smoke weed on the stoop with his boys hipster and this naïve Midwestern girl from who knows where... Windows always open... No shades and the other day mid-afternoon during labor day the sounds coming out those windows was just ridiculous... Show some freaking class... These people are ruining this once solid working/middle class neighborhood... I really can't stand some of them... They have no regard for anyone else other than themselves...

It's not there yet... Right now it's just a couple of strays mainly from the West Bushwick/East Will. area looking for cheaper rents... I just hope that the fact that this area has a much higher own to rent percentage than areas like Bushwick and east will. helps it stay above it all... If I see anything like Tandem hit my area, I'm done... You could pencil in another PR moving down south...
