Wow you voted for Castimitides....I know nothing of him except his wealth. And then I watched the Republican debates...and realized there was no way 1. He would win and 2. I would ever vote him. He may be a nice guy, but he was completely unprepared for the debates and just said (poorly) whatever came to his head at the time, no matter how ridiculous it was or sounded.

In terms of actual policies stated thus far, Liu sounds the best to me. However, there is no way he is going to be in the running and it doesn't seem like anyone's paying much attention to him.

Lol,OK, I didn't. I defied my union bosses!

Actually,Thompson was the only candidate that I never thought I would vote for during the entire process, despite his union endorsement.

At one point I thought I might vote for Liu.At other points I thought I might vote for Weiner or Quinn. In the end I voted for
de Blasio,Stringer for comptroller and Torres for city council.

I hope today ends it.Don't want to listen to more with a runoff.

He's in favor of protecting kitties:

Joe Lhota Would Have Let Subway Kittens Die By Train: Gothamist

Well since kitties are not revenue generators for the city, they have zero societal value to Lhota. Business comes first over everything and everybody! Is that the kind of city we want? I sure don't.

Bluedog I am glad you didn't vote for Thompson...although I am learning quite a few people I would never have thought would vote for Thompson voted for him. Who knew.

Voting for anyone other than the Republican candidate (most likely to be Lhota) is a defacto vote for de Blasio.

Don't want someone who practically a socialist in the mayor's office? Then vote for Lhota, it's New York's only chance.

Actually might have something to do with union endorsements.I am always shocked at the number of people who only vote for whoever their union tells them to.

I also think Thompson got a lot of early union endorsements because no one took de Blasio seriously early on and most of the unions definitely didn't trust Quinn. The UFT has a history of endorsing losers in primary elections.

My union endorsed Quinn, but I'm not a lamb like a lot of union people are. Vote your conscience, vote who you trust. Will Cats win, most likely never but hes a regular street guy that made it big. I find that endearing. Also, a simple idea of a deputy mayor for every borough is interesting, it's not just about Manhattan.

I agree, he is not polished at all, in appearance or getting his thoughts out. But coming from a similar background of immigrants that busted their ass and made it big (not billionaires like him of course but decent) I like that. You don't get to where he is without an acumen for business and being aggressive and smart. Is it a wasted vote, no I'm satisfied.

Someone I know living in Brooklyn said he got fliers for Castimitides saying "why Castimitides is good for Staten Island". Incompetent campaign?
