-Thompson seems to be perceived by many as the more moderate alternative to de Blasio. He wins more conservative areas in southern Staten Island, southern Brooklyn, eastern Queens, Breezy Point. Can't be sure from the map, but it looks like he gets solid support from Orthodox Jews.
-At the same time, Thompson gets significantly stronger support in the Bronx than any other borough. No idea why.
-Asian areas break pretty strongly for Liu. I actually like Liu, but wrote him off early on as a non-contender. Interesting that he maintained this support.
-And, last and weirdest, Anthony Weiner wins Norwood by a large margin? WTF??
EDIT: I was wrong, it's Randy Credico in Norwood, according to the Times. Similar color. But again, what?
The Bronx had some weird voting tracts. Half of the South Bronx voted for Bill Thompson while the other half voted for De Blasio. Cedrico won Norwood. For Republicans George T McDonald won Mott Haven. Dont get me wrong but his doe organization does outreach to many unfortunate people in the area, I wondered if those that fell on hard times voted for McDonald for turning their lives of misfortune around?
