Plenty of people have done this nationally and around the world even. And it will continue to happen in the future.
Only NYC was in scope for this thread. Yes the past few generations were very transient.

Watch Jay-Z @ 1:48. He makes a really good point. The gap between rich and poor is widening. That could explain a lot of the tension on this thread.

I love NYC! I have no desire to move. It will get back to more prosperous times I hope.

Jay-Z is indeed a huge contributor to that widening. Specifically in areas like downtown Brooklyn and surrounding neighborhoods.

Also the broad in that video was insufferable. I feel bad for the beta that has to endure that. And Barney Frank was the only one making sense there...

She's clueless. Bankers don't have the caine, it's the traders. And so is jay z. He makes it out as if there was a bigger middle class around the Marcy pjs when he was growing up there.

Would love to get out of this nanny state, and 'live free or die'.

But this is where i make my money, day dreaming of a self sufficient less over crowded quality of life keeps me sane.
that life style may not be for everyone, if you want to stay then stay if you want to leave then leave. Ain't my life.
