Better than asking for "handouts". Lol!
No I'd refer to that as "being a criminal." Everything I've achieved has been accomplished legally. I would never resort to criminal activity, mostly because I structured my life so that I would never have to. I wasn't raised that way unlike far too many "people".

Yeah, well, at least your tax dollars wouldn't be supporting me.

If there are no jobs or ways to make money "legally", then what am I supposed to do?

You don't want me to go on welfare or collect foodstamps, so what am I supposed to do for money?

"IF THERE ARE NO JOBS" Please you mean if there are no "easy" jobs? Right? Last I checked there are plenty of jobs in the good old USA. The only problem is some people have too much "pride" to do some of these jobs. If my cousin who has been here 8 years, can barely speak English and works as a bus boy at a restaurant. He earns 60K a year and bought himself a two family home for him and his family. I think you should feel "lucky" with your situation.

I hate this self-victimization mentality that has developed with people who receive government assistance. Which is why I think the whole system is flawed. If people didn't have a "safety-net" to fall back on, maybe they would take the initiative that millions of immigrants who migrate to this country have done, and will do in the future.

Does your cousin live in the 5 boroughs of NYC?

These types of jobs are not considered immigrant jobs because immigrants perform them. These are jobs that employers will not hire American born citizens, they favor immigrants for these jobs. 20 years ago you would see both American born and immigrants in these types of jobs. American born still apply but are not hired.

Yes, a job description that has an oversupply of applicants will not be paying 60K/year.

This is not entirely true. I do have American friends who work in restaurants, bars, and hotels as bartenders, servers, bussers, etc.

Its very possible for an American to get these jobs. Go out to restaurants in Manhattan and elsewhere, and yes, you do see Americans in these jobs.

People on welfare who wish to avoid work DO NOT WANT to get these jobs. They will use every excuse in the book. Look at what Marilyn just said. Rather than work one of these jobs, or get job training through HRA (if she were in a bad situation) she'd rather prostitute herself (and risk prison, stds, and violence).

If there is a discrimination for these jobs, then those on welfare should apply for them anyway. If there's a pattern of rejection based on nationality get LAWYERS and SUE for discrimination.

What's really sickening is that the liberal mindset WHINES about problems, yet gives no SOLUTIONS (beyond charity for the "poor")
